  1. The Chocolate Covered Cake Donut with Nuts on top.

On “Star Trek”, we used to have delivered on the stage a dozen donuts before the day started. Billy loved the cake donut with the chocolate frosting and the nuts on top! He looked forward to this daily treat to enjoy his coffee with. Kevin O’Connell, who was our recordist, came in regularly early to set up the recorders and string the mag units up for the mornings work. Apparently finishing a little ahead of schedule, Kevin came down to the stage from the machine room and saw the pink box of a dozen donuts sitting near the console and took the chocolate covered cake donut with the nuts on top and went back up to the machine room. When Billy arrived on the stage a short time later, he opened the box to get his chocolate covered cake donut with the nuts on top, and it wasn’t there!! Leaning on the intercom button and in a loud and stern voice, Billy wanted to know who took his chocolate covered donut with the nuts on top? Poor Kevin was beside himself a little embarrassed and maybe somewhat humiliated, to tell Billy that it was he.

The next morning as Billy came onto the stage and opened the pink box; there were a dozen chocolate covered cake donuts with nuts on top of them, which Kevin had purchased! It was Kevin’s way of making up for the missing chocolate covered cake donut with the nuts on top from the previous morning,
